I was late to the party with blondies, I'm sure because my granny was never big on them. She maaaaaaay have made them once or twice but I have no childhood memories of these 'brownies void of chocolate' and once I discovered what they were I couldn't get past the why? Why leave the chocolate out of a brownie? I admit the name is pretty cute but I'm way too in love with chocolate to leave it out of something - I spend more time than I should trying to cram it INTO things! However....I came across a cute recipe for Valentine Blondies and I made them this year. I was sold. It wasn't that I hadn't ever eaten a blondie, I just hadn't ever made any myself and I am horribly impressed by my own baking so naturally, I loved them.

Then when I saw a recipe for blondies in Mama Pea's book, I knew I had to try them. The fact that she's managed to add peanut butter to the situation makes them that much better!
