Technically, these cookies are called Milk Chocolate Fudge Crackles on the
Robin Hood
website, but I wrote out the recipe years ago as crinkles, so the kids haven't known them by any other name. Cute!
Milk Chocolate Crinkel Cookies
-
Robin Hood
1/4 cup shortening or butter
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 ½ cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups milk Chocolate Chips
3/4 cup icing sugar
Melt the chocolate and shortening or butter.
Add sugar.
Now add the eggs, one at a time. Make sure they're totally mixed in.
Then add the condensed milk and vanilla.
Finally add the baking powder, salt, and icing sugar.
Mix till almost blended.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Now pop this sticky dough in the fridge for a couple of hours. It just needs to hold it's shape.
Preheat your oven to 325F/160C. Using about a tablespoon of dough at a time (maybe a little more), form smallish balls and roll them in icing sugar.
Flatten them with a glass before baking for about 11-13 minutes.
