I had about 20 facecloth/dishcloth patterns in my queue on Ravelry at Christmas when I made a stack of these for my huband's aunt and uncle, my husbands mother loved them and I wanted to make a similar stack for her as a birthday gift this year. I went with the Diamonds in the Rough cloths.
The pattern is a super simple 10 row repeat with absolutely no fancy stitches at all - it's made up of knits and purls! A fast knitter can probably crank out one or more an hour, I was more like half that speed.
I have a serious love for Knit Picks yarn. The quality is good, the colours are beautiful and the price is right! This yarn knitted up so lovely and went through the washer and dryer.
For this set, I used Shine Sport in six colours; Marmalade, French Blue, Crocus, Green Apple, Crme Brulee and Hollyberry.
I averaged about two facecloths per night while watching marathons of bad television.
I washed and dried them with no issue - I like to give things like this prewashed so there are no surprises later and because it smells so good!!
