I have mentioned before that my mother has always made a big deal out of our birthdays. So this year was a milestone birthday for her and I created everything I'd need for a fairy birthday party for her and brought it to her house. She adores Tinkerbelle and really, any kind of beautiful fairy. So, among other things, Wee One #2 and I made fairy headbands for everyone to wear during the party!
They were super simple to make. All you need is a pack of plastic headbands, a few spools of green ribbon (some plain for the base and some pretty for wrapping around), some plastic dollar store flowers and your trusty glue gun! It took me about an hour or so to make 6 of them (with quite a bot of interruption)!
First you'll need to hot glue the green ribbon around the plastic hairband. Just use a dab at a time and pull taught once the glue has set, to wrap around and keep dabbing.
Next glue the plastic flowers around the headband. I used the little creases where I wrapped the ribbon under to stick the little plastic stems, dabbed with hot glue. I also ran some cute green ribbons around the headbands, some of them had pink ribbon accents too!
When we set the table, I put one headband on each plate - even my Dad wore one! I made the placemats too, from a square of astroturf, a wooden bee and a wooden mushroom!
