Which of course means my kids love them &#8211; brownie, cake and chocolate chip cookie all at once? Oh! That actually gives me an idea for later! <i>Ahem<\/i>. These Congo Bars take maaaybe 5 minutes to get in the oven, 7 if you have a toddler pulling at your skirt and like 20 if your toddler insists on helping. I do my best to let the kids help when they ask to because some of my favorite times with my parents and my grandparents were in the kitchen with a mound of flour on the floor and dough in my hair. Thanks guys!!<\/p>\n<p>No small talk for you today, it&#8217;s Day 7 (of 17) of the 2012 Ravellenic Games and I&#8217;m only 0.13% through my <b>first event<\/b>, the Modular Relay (puffs for my blanket) and I&#8217;d really like to do more than one event. So whip up a batch of these, and get knitting! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"\/images\/v2\/domestic\/congo-bars\/congo-bars-title.jpg\" altCongo Bars\" title=\"Congo Bars\"><\/p>\n<p><b>Congo Bars<\/b> &#8211; via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sixsistersstuff.com\/2012\/02\/congo-bars-recipe.html\" target=\"_blank\">Six Sisters Stuff<\/a> (adapted from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bakerella.com\/i-hope-you-have-chocolate-chips-handy\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bakerella<\/a><\/p>\n<p>2 3\/4 cup flour<br \/>\n2 1\/2 teaspoon baking powder<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n2\/3 cup butter, softened<br \/>\n2 cup brown sugar<br \/>\n3 eggs<br \/>\n1 teaspoon vanilla<br \/>\n1 1\/2 cups milk chocolate chips<br \/>\n<del>1 c. chopped pecans<\/del> <i>(I made these for the kids &#038; they weren&#8217;t feeling the nuts)<\/i><\/p>\n<table border=\"0\" cellpadding=\"5\" cellspacing=\"5\" width=\"100%\">\n<tr>\n<td class=\"content\">\n<div align=\"center\"><img src=\"\/images\/v2\/domestic\/congo-bars\/congo-bars-01.jpg\" altCongo Bars\" title=\"Congo Bars\"><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<td class=\"content\">\n<div align=\"center\"><img src=\"\/images\/v2\/domestic\/congo-bars\/congo-bars-02.jpg\" altCongo Bars\" title=\"Congo Bars\"><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td class=\"content\" colspan=\"2\">Sift the flour, baking powder and salt and then set aside. Cream the butter and the sugars, then add one egg at a time, then the vanilla.
