I don’t know how many times I’ve declared a chocolate chip cookie recipe ‘the best’. Maybe half a dozen times? Every time I say it, it’s true in the moment, and today I’m declaring this recipe to be the best, yet again.
This recipe though? I think it’ll always be a real winner because they’re soft and chewy but not when cookies are slightly undercooked and chewy, you know? These guys are fully cooked and chewy! I just love how pillowy soft they are and most of all, I love how much everyone else loves them.
They’re a hit with my whole family. My kids are pretty happy to have any chocolate chip cookies, but my sister is pretty picky and she loves them too so that’s a huge win!
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup chocolate chips
Easy peasy. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper or your baking mat.
I started by creaming the butter and both sugars. Then, I added the vanilla and the egg.
In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda and salt.
Then I tipped the flour into the butter mixture and once it was all combined, I mixed in the chocolate chips.
I used a medium ice cream scoop and baked them for 10 minutes. Let them cool for a few minutes before moving them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
