As with many of the whimsical creations coming out of this kitchen, these adorable little creations are courtesy of Bakerella! They could not be easier and as usual, these are amazing. I made them as Valentine's Day treats for Wee One #1's class party. I wrapped them in foil and made little tags that said 'Happy Valentine's Day' for him to give to his classmates with his paper cards. I wasn't there, but he said they were a hit - despite not looking at all like the kisses I had intended them to look like. Whoops!
1 package Oreo cookies (divide but use both the cookie and the filling)
1 8oz package of softened cream cheese
melting chocolate
Break up the Oreos, either in a food processor, or smash them in a bag against the counter or chop them up with a knife.
I cut them up with a knife and then I popped them in the magic bullet.
Stir in the soft cream cheese, Bakerella suggested using the back of a spoon to mash it together and that worked really well.
Now do your best to shape them into kisses. Mine are a little wobbily, but they're cute. Just make sure the bottom is flat so they'll sit and the top is as pointed as you can make it.
Pop these guys in the freezer for a few minutes so they take the chocolate coating without falling apart on you.
Melt the chocolate and coat them! I held each one over the bowl of chocolate with a fork and poured a spoonful of chocolate over top.
Let them dry, then refrigerate them for a while to set.
Theeeen you cna wrap them in foil to give them the final finished kiss look. Get creative with the little paper sticking out the top!
