good housekeeping chocolate chip cookies

Every baker has their go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe. This one has been my hands down most often baked recipe for these cookies, though I do love to mess around with recipes that are new to me as well. It's simple, but tried and true, I've been baking these cookies since my husband got me The All New Good Housekeeping Cook Book in 2001!

Chocolate Chip Cookies - from The All New Good Housekeeping Cook Book (p. 724)
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Sift the flour, baking soda and salt together and add that to the dough. Then fold in the chocolate chips (you could add walnuts too).

Drop them by rounded tablespoons and bake for 10 minutes or so. Voila! Perfect chocolate chip cookies!
