chocolate chili cake

I made this for a dear friend who likes a little kick in his food and is always willing to test out my kitchen experiements! Happy birthday Andrew! I filled the middle with a batch of brownies because this year Andrew and Talea had to share a birthday party (the horror), and she prefers brownies to cake.

In a smallish bowl, mix the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and cayenne pepper. Back to the saucepan now, add the eggs, one at a time. Now alternate between adding the flour mixture and the milk. Bake for 45 minutes or so.

Mine was done in about half an hour and had a little burnt layer on top. No biggie. I cut off the burnt part, flipped it over for a perfectly flat top and cut a hole in the middle. Why?

To fill it with brownies of course!! It was a serious hit!
